Greenville’s Mike Head Awarded Highest Young Advisor Honor for NAIFA-SC

Columbia, SCThe National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA-SC) is pleased to announce that NAIFA-Upstate member, Mike Head, is the recipient of the 2017 SC Young Advisor Team (YAT) Leader of the Year. The award was given at the Annual President’s Dinner at the 2017 NAIFA-SC Convention held in downtown Charleston in June.

The YAT Leader of the Year Award recognizes an advisor’s commitment to NAIFA-SC, including service on local, state and national committees and participation in the Leadership in Life Institute (LILI); involvement with state or federal legislative efforts; participation in external service work such as charities; and an ability to inspire others.

Mike Head, a graduate of Clemson University, works for Head Financial Group, and focuses on employee benefit and individual life & health insurance solutions. He specializes in self-insured and wellness strategies for small employers looking to combat rising healthcare cost. As a member of NAIFA, Mike is currently serving as Vice President/Treasurer of NAIFA-Upstate. Mike is also an active member of the National Association of Health Underwriters and the Clemson Alumni Association. Mike and his wife Sara, are members of Mauldin United Methodist Church and have three children – Lawson, Max, and Maggie.

2013 Carroll H. Jones Award

Head is named 2013 Carroll H. Jones Award Recipient

Columbia, SC June 18, 2013 - Kenneth (Ken) W. Head, CLU, Greenville, SC received the 2013 Carroll H. Jones Award by the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors - South Carolina (NAIFA-SC). The Carroll H. Jones award had been designated as the NAIFA-SC person of the year award. The award was presented at the 2013 NAIFA-SC annual meeting, June 14, 2013, Florence, SC.

The purpose of the award is to honor the outstanding insurance and financial advisor in South Carolina who has made, and is currently making the most outstanding contribution to our industry. He or she must devote his or her full time to the marketing of insurance and financial products.

Merlin Powell, President of NAIFA-SC had this to say, "No one is more deserving of this award than Ken Head. He has served the Greenville local NAIFA, NAIFA-SC and NAIFA National in various leadership positions. Ken is truly an asset to the association and to the community that he serves.”
